Workflow & Task Management
To-Do’s Module Enhancements: Total Content Control
PMS & EHR
We’ve upgraded the To-Do’s Module with enhancements driven directly by user feedback. This update provides greater control over communications and improves data accuracy by eliminating the extra steps typically caused by accidental entries or outdated tasks.
How to Use:
- Delete To-Do’s: Instantly remove incorrectly entered or outdated items to keep your task list clean. To-Do creators and admins can now delete accidental entries with a single click of the button.
- Edit Sent Messages: Fix typos or errors in previously sent messages without having to send a new notification. Click on the message to open the text editor.
- Remove Attachments: Delete accidentally uploaded or incorrect files to ensure only the right documents are shared.
- Edit & Delete Comments: Update or remove internal notes to reflect the most accurate and current information. Comment creators can click to edit text and attachments or delete a comment entirely.
-
Preserve Assignee & CC Order: Assignees and CC recipients now stay in the exact order you select, allowing you to organize your team by clinical priority rather than the alphabet.
These updates are live across both PMS and EHR, ensuring all clinical and administrative content stays perfectly in sync.
Pathology & Surgical Documentation
Pathology Orders: Advanced Split-Order Control & Tracking
EHR
Managing complex pathology encounters is now more efficient and transparent. We have introduced a comprehensive suite of tools that allow users to manipulate order groupings directly from the Physical Exam and track their real-time progress through the lab, eliminating the mental load of manual verification.
How to Use:
- Flexible Split & Merge: Within the order screen, users can select specific specimens to split into new orders with unique IDs or consolidate existing ones using the Merge icon. If a mistake is made, the Refresh button instantly reverts the order to its original state.
- Revert Sent Orders: For orders already marked as "Sent," users can click the Revert icon to return them to "Pending" status system-wide, allowing for last-minute corrections prior to final sign-off.
- Intelligent Status Tracking: A new Smart Indicator icon appears in the Inbox and Biopsy Log whenever a status discrepancy exists between specimens in a split encounter.
- Real-Time Progress Roadmap: Clicking the indicator icon provides a detailed status of every related specimen (e.g., Performed, Pending Results, Pending Review), ensuring clinical decisions are based on the complete patient picture. The tracking indicator automatically hides once all specimens reach the same status.
- Complete Activity Logging: The audit trail captures all split, merge, and status actions for full clinical transparency.
Surgical Prep: Hypochlorous Acid Addition
EHR
To better support clinical preferences, we have expanded our surgical preparation options for more precise procedural documentation.
How to Use:
- Users can now select Hypochlorous Acid from the Surgical Scrub dropdown menu. This option is located within the Treatment Plan - Procedure Summary section of the patient encounter.
Clinical Safety & Integration
Drug-Allergy & Drug-Drug Persistent Indicators: Safety That Follows Your Lead
EHR
To ensure critical safety data remains highly visible, real-time drug and allergy pulsing indicators now follow the user throughout the entire prescribing workflow. This update removes the need to switch screens to verify risk screenings, providing a persistent safety net from initial entry to patient checkout.
How to Use:
- Pulsing indicators are now visible across four key stages: Progress Note - Rx, Check Out, Patient Chart - Rx History and Prescriptions screens.
- Users can click the indicators on any of these screens to view FDB-backed interaction levels, specific medication names, and detailed allergy insights. By maintaining visibility through the Check out and Rx History screens, the system ensures a final verification is performed before the patient completes their visit.
Financial Accuracy & Billing
Precision Billing: Automated Validation & Rejection Protection
PMS
To enhance claim accuracy and reduce manual review, we’ve implemented a series of automated billing safeguards. These validations act as a proactive "safety net," catching clerical errors during the workflow to prevent avoidable denials and ensure every claim is submission-ready.
How to Use:
- Automated Address Cleanup: The system now hides duplicate address lines on 837 electronic and CMS-1500 forms and blocks PO Boxes in Billing Provider fields to ensure physical location compliance.
- Insurance Status Alerts: Visual warnings and tooltips now appear when "Self Pay" or "Inactive" profiles are selected, prompting users to verify active coverage before proceeding.
- Primary Policy Validations: To minimize type-code denials, the system flags insurance type codes entered on a Primary Policy, as these are typically reserved for Medicare Secondary Payer scenarios.
- Future Check Date Management: Claims with future check dates are automatically filtered out of the Ready for Submission and Ready to Print queues. Users can manually override this filter using the "Show All" checkbox.
- Submission Security: The Save & Override eClaim tool now actively blocks submissions containing future check dates, requiring a date resolution before the claim can proceed.
Future Focus: Feature Now in Beta
Beta testing is now underway for our newest enhancement. While currently available only to our early-access testers, this feature is being finalized for a full release soon. Stay tuned for the official launch!
EzAPI & Bonsai Integration
We are actively optimizing the EzAPI platform to support more robust and standardized data transfers. In collaboration with Bonsai and our key integration partners, these enhancements are designed to reduce development overhead and ensure that third-party tools sync seamlessly with your clinical records.
- Enhanced Sync Efficiency: New filtering capabilities allow for "Delta Syncing" which retrieves only modified records to ensure faster data updates.
- Comprehensive Data Payloads: Expanded responses now include deeper patient and appointment context, enabling more personalized automated communications.
- Standardized Patient Profiles: Uniform data fields across all services ensure that external messaging tools stay perfectly aligned with current clinical records.
- High-Volume Performance: The addition of pagination support ensures that data transfers remain fast and reliable, regardless of the practice's database size.
