Q: If a patient replies "STOP" to an SMS statement, will it also stop appointment reminders?
A: Yes. When a patient responds STOP to any message from the practice, they are automatically opted out of all SMS communications. This includes online statement notifications, automatic appointment reminders, manual Ezlink SMS messages, biopsy result notifications, and custom SMS messages. Essentially, they will no longer receive messages from any of the practice’s phone numbers.
Q: How can a patient opt back in to receive SMS reminders?
A: To opt back in, the patient must reply START to one of the practice's phone numbers. If they have deleted the message thread and no longer have the number, your practice can provide them with the correct phone number to text.
