Histologic diagnosis on pathology reports will not populate in the diagnosis option in pending review on the inbox.
The pathologist is giving you a histological diagnosis based on what they see under the microscope, for example, LICHENOID AND VACUOLAR INTERFACE DERMATITIS. So, this is what is happening at the microscopic level. In the note, however, the pathologist is translating what these microscopic diagnoses may be seen in Photodermatitis, parapsoriasis, and connective tissue disease. You Should not use histological (microscopic) diagnoses in this case. Histologic diagnosis will not generate ICD10 if not found in the diagnosis section.
You would need to consider which of the clinical diagnoses, you would use based on clinical judgment based on the patient which in turn is supplemented with this pathology report. For example physical presentation of the patient, and/or any other information obtained from the patient history or any additional labs. Consider using one of the clinical diagnoses from the report (i.e., Photodermatitis, parapsoriasis, and/or connective tissue disease) or consider other diagnoses based on your evaluation of the patient. Also, this is what will generate your ICD10 code for all future follow-up visits for this diagnosis.
If you still want to use the histologic diagnosis that is on the pathology report. You would need to add the histologic diagnosis in the follow-up section when reviewing the pathology report.
This will then populate on your virtual encounter after signing off on the pathology under the follow-up section.
