With the August 8th, 2020 update to EZDERM, there are new Surescripts-imposed requirements in the system, one of which is the Surescripts Provider Identifier (SPI).
You can think of the SPI as Surescripts' version of the NPI (National Provider Identifier), which Surescripts assigns to each provider based on:
- Provider Name
- Physical Location of the Clinic
- eRx vendor (e.g. EZDERM)
SPI has four types of eRx messages that are relevant as of this release and each individual type must be configured in Surescripts' system correctly in order for you to be able to use them. These message types are:
- New Rx's - All EZDERM providers already have this messaging type configured and you should not have any trouble sending new prescriptions
- Refill - May need additional configuration
- Change - May need additional configuration
- Cancel - May need additional configuration
EZDERM will work with Surescripts to enable these four Rx messaging types for each of our providers. If you have not posted that you are running into problems with eRx messaging to the EZDERM Community Facebook page, please contact your EZDERM representative or the EZDERM Support team and inform them that you need these settings configured.
Please have the following information ready:
- Provider First and Last Name
- NPI number
- DEA number
- Clinic Name and Address
- Authorized Practice Contact
- Practice email address
- Practice phone number
