MIPS: Promoting Interoperability

In 2021, Promoting Interoperability (PI) is 25% of your final score with a total of 100 category points. The reporting period is a minimum of 90 consecutive days. The last 90 day performance period begins on October 3, 2021. 

This performance category focuses on four objectives: e-Prescribing, Health Information Exchange,
Provider to Patient Exchange, and Public Health and Clinical Data Exchange.

Users must report the required measures under each objective unless they are able to claim an exclusion. Each measure will be scored based on the submission of a numerator and denominator or a yes/no. If exclusions are claimed, then the points will be added to different measures. 

Two measures that have no exclusions. If data for these two measures are not submitted, the PI category score would be ZERO:

• Security Risk Analysis

• Provide Patient Access to the portal (at least 1 patient)
