It is important to make sure that your private insurance list is set up for the practice. This will help ensure that the correct insurances are being selected based off of which insurance companies the practice is contracted with.
In order to enter these you will first click on the practice name in the upper left-hand corner and then click Practice > Insurance Companies. You will be able to see all insurances by default, but you can also filter by public and private. To add a new insurance to the private database, you will click on the blue button at the top that says "Add New Insurance."
- When entering the insurance you can either search by the name or by the Payer ID. If for some reason you notice that the insurance does not have a Payer ID, then you will want to make sure to add the insurance address.
- You will also want to choose the Multiple Surgery Reduction Rule (MSRR). You can either select Medicare or Commercial
- Lastly, you will have the option to add in your personal contact for that insurance. The options are as follows: mobile phone, home phone, office phone, office ext. other phone, and fax.
Once you hit save on the bottom right-hand corner, the insurance will be added to the private insurance list.
