You can access all claims by clicking on Billing > Claims on the left-hand side of the screen. From here you will be able to view all claims and filter by status or errors.
By selecting the box to the left you can choose which claims you would like to perform an action and then from the actions tab you will see the options listed.
1. Settle will bring all positive claim balances to zero, and a patient adjustment will be created for each claim. Please note that negative charges will not be affected. Once ready to apply, you will select an adjustment date and reason.
In the event that the claim amount is zero, the responsibility will be moved to the patient, and the status will show as completed. If the balance is negative, neither responsibility nor the status will change.
In the patient's financials section, you will now see an adjustment and that the pending charges were settled.
2. Billing Note: You can also add a billing note from the actions drop-down which will appear within all patient's claims who are selected.
3. Change Claim Status will change existing statuses to any status chosen from the drop down.
4. Transfer Balance To Patient will switch the responsibility to the patient. In the case that the balance is zero, the status will change to "Completed." If the balance is anything but zero, then the status will change to "Ready for Patient".
