To change or add a patient's primary care or referring physician from the practice management system:
1. Select the patient and open the Appointment Card.
2. Click on "Select Referring Physician".
3. The "Add Care Team Member" field will pull up a drop-down of the office's Contacts. If the physician you are looking for is not on this list, there is the option to "Create New Contact."
4. By default, the provider at the top of the list will be the patient's Primary Care Physician and will be labeled as such. To mark a provider as the patient's default referring physician, meaning that every time you go to schedule that patient the provider's name will already be in the Referring Physician field, simply click that provider's name and turn it pink. This pink denotes that the provider is the default referring physician.
