How do I send a prescription refills for patients that are not on the schedule??
You are able to send a refill for a patient prescription even if they are not seen in the clinic.
1. To do so, navigate to the desired patient’s chart on the EHR, and locate the Rx History tab.
2. Once you click into Rx History, locate the Prescribed tab. This will show a list of all medications that have been prescribed by the practice for the patient.
3. If you click on the red ℹ icon next to the prescription, you are able to see the date the prescription was originally created.
4. Swipe from right to left across the medication you would like to send and two buttons will appear. To send an electronic prescription, click on the blue eRx button.
5. The prescription details will be displayed and you have the ability to edit any of these details within this section before sending the prescription, including medication details and the pharmacy you wish to send the eRx to by tapping into each respective section.
6. Once you are done editing the prescription, tap the Send button in the upper right-hand corner to electronically prescribe this medication.
7. Please note, if you wish to print the prescription, after swiping from right to left with over the medication name in step 4, click on the green Print eRx button instead. This will generate the prescription in PDF form which can then be printed.
