Adding injectable substance and application fields back into your treatment plans:
If your treatment plans containing the Injection and/or application procedure segments were not updated prior to the July 1st deadline, your treatment plans will be missing these fields and they will need to be added back into your treatment plans manually.
You can do this from the EHR by going to settings > my profile > treatment plans > click on the plan that needs to be updated > scroll down to the procedure summary > click on add procedure segments:
Select the injectable substance field (or application field depending on the plan you are updating:
Search for the medication you would like to add:
Once selected, add your dilution (where applicable) and double-check that your JCode pulled in:
**Please note that if these fields are not added back into your treatment plans, you will not have the injected or applied medications in your note, and it will not generate JCodes for billing**
If you previously had “workaround” plans that used the application field to pull in additional CPT codes, you will need to add the application field back into your treatment plan > then manually add the code back in the CPT code section. (In these types of plans you will not have anything in the substance section):
You will also need to update the injectable substance field for your cosmetic injectables. While this is not needed to pull in JCodes, they need to be updated to the new injectable substance field in order for the substance to show in your note:
