Yes. You can swipe from right to left in line with the red section headline and the "Edit Text" and "Add Text" buttons will appear for you. Both can be used to modify text but each has a different effect on the system.
Add Text:
Selecting this option will pull up a free text field which allows you to add additional information to the bottom of the section via free typing, dictation, or shorthands. You will not be able to edit existing text, and trying to do so will generate a warning message at the top of the screen. It is recommended to use "Add Text" whenever possible to ensure additional, automated documentation added to the Progress Note does not get lost.
Edit Text:
You can select the Edit Text option to have the ability to alter the existing text in the section you are working on. Using this option will override the template and any further changes/documentation noted in the system that would normally automatically generate additional information in the section will NOT be reflected in the corresponding section. Any text that has been altered via the "Edit Text" option will be visually indicated by the italicized font of the whole section.
When using the Edit Text option, you will have the ability to revert back to the original auto-generated text and continue to have the system document for you by tapping on the circular, red arrow next to the Cancel button and selecting Done. Please note that doing this will delete any manually entered information in the section. It is recommended to only use the "Edit Text" option at the very end of your documentation, right before you are ready to sign off on the Progress Note.
Additional Note: Tapping on the black text within any section of the Progress Note will act as if you had selected the "Edit Text" option.
FAQ
I added a new plan in the body map, but the changes aren't showing in the Assessment and Plan section of my Progress Note. Why?
You might have previously used the Edit Text option to change some of the wording in that section, and that will be visually indicated to you by whether or not the text in that section is in italics. If it is, you need to tap on the black text inside the Assessment and Plan section (or swipe on the section header and select Edit Text), and then tap the circular red arrow in the top left. Note that the new plan you added will be reflected now, but any text you had manually entered previously will be removed. Hit Done to save your changes and then come back to edit this section and manually make changes once you have finished all documentation.
