In the case where you have one or multiple Consent(s) that need to be updated and re-signed by patients every year, such as your Office Financial Policy or HIPAA consents, we recommend the following.
You will want to create a new One Time Consent in the system that mirrors the old one you are replacing, meaning you can copy and paste the body of the old one into the new one and make the necessary updates. Once you are ready, click Save and that new One-Time consent will be added to all patient encounters that are already on the schedule as well as any that are added after this point.
At the appropriate date, such at the first day of the new year for example, you will be able to go into the settings of the older consent that is being replaced and Delete it, so that patients previously scheduled are not asked to sign the old version as well as the new one. Deleting a consent in this manner will not affect any finalized consents that have been signed by all necessary parties and saved to the patient's Documents.
