If you did a biopsy and the system is generating your D48.5 ICD-10 code, but not your CPT code for the procedure, there are a couple of things that can cause this.
We first recommend you check your body map to make sure you applied the procedure to the body map. If you look at your body map and the anatomical location is still showing (instead of the biopsy procedure tag), then you need to double-tap the location on the body map to apply the procedure. It should be noted, that if this is the issue, you will also not be able to generate a requisition until you apply the procedure to the location.
Once you have applied the biopsy treatment plan, the biopsy location will no longer show the anatomical location name. That will be replaced with your procedure tag. Your biopsy should now generate a CPT code:
If this does not correct the issue we recommend you click into your procedure and check your biopsy technique. You can do this by clicking on the location on the body map to generate the selection wheel, and clicking on the single scalpel icon to go into your procedure:
Please note that there are only 3 biopsy techniques that will generate a CPT Code: Punch, Tangential (Shave), and Incisional. If you select any other technique, the system will not generate a CPT code:
IF THESE DO NOT FIX YOUR ISSUE, AND YOUR NOTE IS STILL NOT GENERATING A CPT CODE. PLEASE CONTACT SUPPORT FOR ASSISTANCE.
